According to a survey by Consumer Reports, 41% of drivers with smartphones said they had used their hands to text while driving and 8% admitted to watching a video on their phone while driving. Distracted driving can have devastating consequences. Statistics show that traffic deaths in America are rising. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, traffic fatalities on U.S. roads in 2016 increased to 37,461. Certainly not all fatal traffic accidents are not wholly-related to distracted driving, but studies show it is a significant factor.
