Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post-traumatic stress disorder, otherwise known as PTSD, is a type of anxiety disorder. This disorder can occur as a result of extreme emotional trauma which involves perception of injury or death. While these conditions can be difficult to admit, they can occur after any number of traumatic events including abuse, war, terrorism, assaults, and even car accidents. Usually, PTSD involves three main types of symptoms including hyperarousal, making it difficult to concentrate, avoidance, making you feel detached or emotionally numb, and flashbacks or repeated nightmares of certain events. At Caldwell Law Group, PLLC, Mr. Caldwell has represented clients who have suffered PTSD as a result of serious automobile accidents, assaults, and workplace accidents. In any injury case, it is important to identify these symptoms so that an appropriate diagnosis can be made and treatment sought. If you feel the symptoms of PTSD after any accident or assault, be certain to let your medical provider know so that appropriate treatment can be obtained. While PTSD can be difficult to deal with, there is treatment available to help with the symptoms.
